Sarvejanaa Sukhino Bhavanthu

The Sree Sita Rama shrine at bhadrachalam, the most famous temple in Bhaarath, dedicated to lord rama is situated on the left bank of godavari river. It is a place of piligrimage for hindus, considered to be one of the greatest holy shrines in south india with a very rich and unique historical background. the temple was constructed in the 17th century , by one of the local tashildar kancharla gopanna , popularly known as Bhaktha Ramadas , a fervent devotee od lord rama.

The puranic and historic facts relate that lord rama long after he had shed his mortal coils manifested himself to save his devotee bhadra maharshi whom he promised 'MOKSHA' after intensive prayer. Thats why the village is named after Bhadra as bhadradri or Bhadrachalam. It is said that Srirama appeared in a dream to a woman called pokala Dammakka and informed her about the existence of idols on Bhadragiri hills . To her surprise she found the idols and put up a modest structure . This was the origin of the present temple. The uniqueness of the temple is that the idol of Lord Rama has a bow in one hand along with Shanku and Chakra, amalgamation of two avatars - Vishnu and Rama

Just opposite to the river, on the other bank a small village - Burgumpad is there. Sri Avadutha-Maatha's Ashram is located in Burgumpad. Its a very beautiful and pleasent place. When you see from the ashram, Bhadramcham Sri Rama Temple Gopuram is seen. Just besides the Ashram, Shiridi Sai baba’s temple is situated. Sri K.H. Vithal sir, is the head of the Ashram. Soon after entering into ashram we get a very pleasant feeling. The ashram is situated in the wide area located between the river bank and the Kothagudem-Bhadrachalam, main road. There are a number of APSRTC busses to reach ashram or people can travel on their own vehicles to reach Ashram. Soon after enetering into the ashram the temple of pitchamma thalli and Sri Rajeshwari maata is there. The devotees visit Amma in the temple which is situated in front of the entrance, and will take the blessings of her. The temple is very pleasant and very peaceful. In Garbha gudi, there are two Idols of Pitchamma thalli, and rajeswari maatha each, side by side. Soon after entering into the temple, there is Hanuman Idol facing to both ammas(in Garbha Gudi). Just outside the Garbha Gudi, there is an Idol of ganesh and Naga raju on either sides of it. The devotees, after coming to the ashram, first go to the temple, take blessings of Vinayakudu, Hanuman, and then both Ammas and then take theertha-prasaadhams from the Poojari. After having darshan, we meet Vithal Sir and take his blessings. There are boarding facilities within the ashram for the devotees who come long way. "Nityaanna danam"(Daily meals) takes place in the ashram for all the devotees which is organised by Sir.
